Summer camps

summer camp basics

For the young horse lover (8 years and older and girls

only please), our summer camp is a fantastic and memorable learning experience. Campers team up with horses best suited for their skill level and continue with that horse throughout the week.

Campers learn to groom, feed, exercise and clean their four-legged riding buddy. This personal relationship bonds the horse and rider together for a great camp  experience.  Campers ride 2-3  times each day and learn equestrian skills, from basic to advanced, from Western to Hunt seat and jumping...even bareback! While not riding campers have time for friendly chats, volleyball and the usual summer camp frolic. Lasting friendships are made on and off the horse.

Cozy, comfortable campers are the living quarters for residential campers.* Meals are home cooked and vary from cereal, waffles or pancakes for breakfast to chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese or sandwiches for lunch and pizza, chicken or spaghetti for dinner. A vegetarian or gluten free menu is available upon request.
*Resident campers arrive SUNDAY camp between 6 and 8pm.

Parents and families are invited to join us on the last day of camp for our very own Appy Orse Acres Horse Show. Campers will demonstrate their newly learned riding skills and there will be fun and games complete with ribbons and trophies plus a chance to meet your child’s horse, whom they will be talking about for years. The event is free-of-charge. The Resident Camp Show begins at 6:30 p.m. while the Day Camp Show begins at 1:00 p.m. Be sure to bring your camera and chairs!
